In a bizarre collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of prohibited rituals and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret group.

The adventure concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a striking scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Extra Features

Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
