It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

Whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
